Howdah Living Set
The roots for the 'howdah' design come from a variety of sources throughtout asia, primarily from India and Thailand. The term 'howdah' means, quite aptly, elephant carriage as the design is derived from the regal seats, which were harnessed to elephants as rides for the Rajah and his entourage in ancient India. This explains the unique leg design of the howdah pieces. This collection imbues any living space with an air of mysticism and exotica, ideal as central conversational pieces in any abode.
